RESOLUTION NO. 3232
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON,
COMMITTING CITY FUNDS AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO SIGN A
CONSTRUCTION AND MAINTENANCE AGREEMENT WITH THE
BURLINGTON NORTHERN RAILROAD COMPANY TO WIDEN AND IMPROVE
THE MONSTER ROAD GRADE CROSSING AND TO SIGN ALL NECESSARY
DOCUMENTS.
WHEREAS, the City needto undertake has determined the the
o
above-referenced project and has duly adopted this project as part
of its Six-Year Transportation Improvement Program; and
WHEREAS, the City deems it necessary to enter into an
agreement_ with Burlington Northern Railroad Company to widen and
improve the Monster Road grade crossing; and
WHEREAS, the projected project cost for this grade crossing is
$152 , 048 . 00 and the City has budgeted $1, 775, 000 . 00 from Federal
Bridge Replacement Program funds, business license fees and
mitigation fees; and
WHEREAS, it is necessary to adopt a resolution authorizing the
Mayor to sign the Construction and Maintenance Agreement documents
and certifying the availability of the City' s commitment to the
project;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON,
WASHINGTON, DO RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS :

SECTION I. The above recitals are found to be true and
correct in all respects .
SECTION II. The Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized
to sign the Construction and Maintenance Agreement with the
Burlington Northern Railroad Company and all documents as are
required therefore or for the Federal Bridge Replacement Program.
SECTION III. The City hereby commits as funds for the above-
referenced transportation project $152, 048 . 00, and acknowledges the
Construction and Maintenance Agreement with Burlington Northern
Railroad Company is an eligible expenditure for the Monster Road
Bridge Replacement Project .
