RESOLUTION NO. 3234
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON,
AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO ENTER INTO AN
INTERLOCAL AGREEMENT TO ESTABLISH A JOINT ENTRY-LEVEL
FIREFIGHTER ELIGIBLE LIST WITH SEA-TAC AND KING COUNTY
FIRE DISTRICT NO. 40.
WHEREAS, the City of Renton, Washington, pursuant to Title
41 . 08 RCW tests for entry-level firefighters, and maintains an
eligibility list for potential entry-level firefighters; and
WHEREAS, surrounding cities and fire districts perform the
same function; and
WHEREAS, it would be cost effective and more efficient to
enter into an interlocal agreement with surrounding jurisdictions
to jointly test and maintain an eligibility list; and
WHEREAS, it is necessary and appropriate to enterinto an
interlocal agreement detailing procedures, costs and
responsibilities concerning the maintenance of such a joint
eligibility list;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON,
WASHINGTON, DO RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS :
SECTION I. The above recitals are found to be true and
correct in all respects .
SECTION II. The Mayor and City Clerk of the City of Renton,
Washington, are hereby authorized to enter into an interlocal

agreement for the establishment of a joint entry-level firefighter
eligible list .
