RESOLUTION NO. 3109
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON,
AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO ENTER INTO AN
INTERLOCAL COOPERATIVE AGREEMENT WITH KING COUNTY
REGARDING CITY OPTIONAL PROGRAM FOR BUSINESS RECYCLING
PROGRAMS AND SPECIAL RECYCLING EVENTS.
WHEREAS, the City of Renton is a participant in the
Comprehensive Solid Waste Management Plan (Plan) for King County;
and
WHEREAS, the Plan includes a 50t waste stream reduction goal
by the year 1995; and
WHEREAS, the Plan allows for the City to receive County
funding assistance for Business Recycling Programs through City
Optional Programs;- and
WHEREAS;- the City of Renton successfully implemented a
Bus=in:ess 'Rec.ycling Program in 1993; and
WHEREAS, the Plan allows for the City to receive County
funding. assistance for Special Recycling Events through City
Optional Programs; and
WHEREAS, the City of Renton has implemented Special Recycling
Events called Recycling Days since 1990; and
WHEREAS, the City of Renton has applied for such County
funding assistance; and
WHEREAS, an agreement has been proposed to document such
funding assistance;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON,
WASHINGTON, DO RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:

SECTION I. The above recitals are found to be true and
correct in all respects.
SECTION II. The Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized
to sign an Agreement Between King County and the City of Renton.
for county funding assistance for City implementation of City
Optional Program Business Recycling Programs in accordance with
the Comprehensive Solid Waste Management Plan for King County.
