RESOLUTION NO. 3147
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON,
AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO ENTER INTO AN
INTERLOCAL COOPERATIVE AGREEMENT WITH FIRE DISTRICT NO.
25 FOR THE CITY OF RENTON TO PROVIDE FIRE AND EMERGENCY
MEDICAL SERVICES TO FIRE DISTRICT NO. 25 FOR CALENDAR
YEAR 1996 AND BEYOND.
WHEREAS, Fire District No. 25 wishes to contract for services
with an adjoining service provider; and
WHEREAS, the City of Renton is such an adjoining provider; and
WHEREAS, the City of Renton could provide Fire District No. 25
with the required services; and
WHEREAS, the Fire District No. 25 area is one that the City of
Renton would eventually serve, in all likelihood; and
WHEREAS, this agreement provides the City of Renton with
additional trained personnel, economies of scale, and other
benefits to the citizens of the City of Renton; and
WHEREAS, the City has provided services to Fire District No.
25 under contract since the year 1993 and wishes to continue to do
so for 1996 and beyond; and
WHEREAS, it is advisable for planning and budgeting reasons to
enter into a long-term contract for necessary services between Fire
District No. 25 and the City of Renton;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON,
WASHINGTON, DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
RESOLUTION NO. 3147
SECTION I. The above recitals are found to be true and
correct in all respects.
SECTION II. The Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized
to enter into a long-term Interlocal Cooperative Agreement with
Fire District No. 25 to provide fire and emergency medical services
to Fire District No. 25 for calendar year 1996 and beyond.
