HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES 3162 CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON RESOLUTION NO. 3162 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON, AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO ENTER INTO AN INTERLOCAL COOPERATIVE AGREEMENT WITH KING COUNTY CONCERNING THE FUNDING AND RESPONSIBILITIES FOR SELECTION AND PRELIMINARY DESIGN OF A CENTRAL BUSINESS DISTRICT TRANSIT HUB SITE FOR RENTON. WHEREAS, the City of Renton has adopted a Comprehensive Land Use Plan which includes a transit transfer facility (transit hub) within the City' s central business district (CBD) ; and WHEREAS, the County as provider of transportation services desires to locate such a transit hub in the CBD; and WHEREAS, the City and the County have jointly applied to the Federal Transit Administration ("FTA" ) for funding for site selection and preliminary design activities; and WHEREAS, a grant has been awarded in the name of King County for those functions; and WHEREAS, the County is responsible for entering into a grant agreement with the FTA; and WHEREAS, the City and the County will each contribute local resources toward local match requirements; and WHEREAS, the City and County desire to enter into an agreement to set forth the respective roles and obligations in the site selection and preliminary design activities; 1 RESOLUTION NO. 3162 NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON, DO RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS : SECTION I . The above recitals are found to be true and correct in all respects . SECTION II. The Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized to enter into an interlocal cooperative agreement between the City of Renton and King County entitled "Renton Central Business District Transit Hub Site Selection and Preliminary Design Agreement Between Renton and King County.
