RESOLUTION NO. 3039
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON,
AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO ENTER INTO AN
INTERLOCAL COOPERATIVE AGREEMENT WITH KING COUNTY TO
IMPLEMENT THE WASHINGTON STATE COMMUTE TRIP REDUCTION
ACT.
WHEREAS, the City of Renton is required to develop and
implement plans to reduce vehicle trips traveled per employee and
single-occupant vehicle commute trips; and
WHEREAS, the City' s commute trip reduction plans must be
coordinated and consistent with plans of adjacent jurisdictions -and
applicable regional plans; and
WHEREAS, the City and King County desire to implement the
Commute Trip Reduction Law consistent with the guidelines
established by the State Commute Trip Reduction Task Force, King
County and other cities within the region; and
WHEREAS, the Legislature apportioned funds to provide
technical assistance funding to local jurisdictions required to
develop and implement commute trip reduction plans; and
WHEREAS, the Washington State Energy Office is required by law
to distribute these funds to the county, which shall in turn
distribute funds to the cities within the county in proportion to
the number of major employers and major worksites within each city;
and
WHEREAS, King County has available to it certain funds which
it wishes to distribute to the City for ongoing program
administration including, but not limited to, employer initial

program descriptions, employer annual reports and employee survey
results, where and when available;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON,
WASHINGTON, DO RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION I. The above recitals are found to be true and
correct in all respects .
SECTION II. The Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized
to enter into an Interlocal Cooperative Agreement with King County
to establish the terms and conditions under which King County shall
distribute funds to the City of Renton to assist in satisfying the
Commute Trip Reduction Act.
