RESOLUTION NO. 3044
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON,
AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO ENTER INTO AN
INTERLOCAL COOPERATIVE AGREEMENT WITH KING COUNTY ENTITLED
"COMMUTE TRIP REDUCTION ACT INTERLOCAL AGREEMENT. "
WHEREAS, the legislature enacted the Commute Trip Reduction Act
which requires the City of Renton to develop and implement plans to
reduce single-occupant vehicle commute trips; and
WHEREAS, the City has within its boundaries one or more
employers required to develop and implement commute trip reduction
plans; and
WHEREAS, King County and the City of Renton are required to
coordinate their plans and make sure the plans are consistent with
the plans of adjacent jurisdictions and applicable regional plans;
and
WHEREAS, the legislature appropriated funds- to provide
technical assistance to the City with the County obligated to
distribute those funds to the cities; and
WHEREAS, the County and the City wish to enter into an
interlocal agreement to set forth the details of the methodology by
which the money will be distributed to the City and the respective
rights, responsibilities and duties of each party;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON,
WASHINGTON, DO RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION I. The above recitals are found to be true and
correct in all respects .

SECTION II. The Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized
to enter into an Interlocal Cooperative Agreement with King County
entitled "Commute Trip Reduction Act Interlocal Agreement. "
