RESOLUTION NO. 3047
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON,
AUTHORIZING APPLICATION FOR FUNDING ASSISTANCE FOR AN
ACQUISITION PROJECT TO KING COUNTY AS PROVIDED BY THE
KING COUNTY CONSERVATION FUTURES LEVY FUND ACQUISITION
PROGRAM (LAKE WASHINGTON VISTAS) .
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Renton, Washington, has
approved a "Comprehensive Park, Recreation and Open Space Plan" and
"Trails Master Plan" for the urban area which identifies open space
on Kennydale Creek located in the north central part of the City; and
WHEREAS, the Lake Washington Vistas is listed as a high priority
for acquisition in the City' s "Comprehensive Park, Recreation and
Open Space Plan" ; and
WHEREAS, under the provisions of the King County Conservation
Futures Levy Fund, funding assistance has been authorized and made
available to aid in financing the cost of open space land for public
bodies; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Renton considers it in
the best public interest to acquire fifteen ( 15 ) parcels of land in
the north central part of the City generally located along Kennydale
Creek west of I-405 and east of Gene Coulon Memorial Beach Park;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON,
WASHINGTON, DO RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS :
SECTION I. The above recitals are found to be true and
correct in all respects .
SECTION II . The Mayor is authorized to make formal
application to King County for funding assistance.

SECTION III. Any fund assistance so received will be used in
the acquisition of 12 . 14 acres of land located in the north central
part of the City of Renton, Washington.
SECTION IV. The City' s share of the project will be derived
from Open Space Bond Issue Funds and Reserve Park Funds .
SECTION V. This resolution shall become part of a formal
application to King County.
SECTION VI. Adequate notification has been given and
opportunity provided for public input.
