RESOLUTION NO. 3064
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON,
AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO ENTER INTO AN
INTERLOCAL COOPERATIVE AGREEMENT WITH THE WASHINGTON
STATE DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION FOR THE RECEIPT AND
USE OF GRANT MONIES FOR THE STREET OVERLAY PROGRAM FOR
GRADY WAY - SR-167 TO SR-515, TALBOT ROAD SOUTH - SOUTH
23RD STREET TO SOUTH 27TH PLACE, AND NORTH 4TH STREET -
LOGAN AVENUE NORTH TO SR-900.
WHEREAS, the City of Renton has determined that there is a
need to undertake a street overlay program for Grady Way - SR-167
to SR-515, Talbot Road South - South 23rd Street to South 27th
Place, and North 4th Street - Logan Avenue North to SR-900 and has
duly adopted these projects as part of its Six-Year Transportation
Improvement Program; and
WHEREAS, the state is prepared to give the City of Renton a
grant from the Intermodal Surface Transportation Efficiency Act
( ISTEA) to undertake the expansion of the Street Overlay Program;
and
WHEREAS, the projected project cost is $353, 314 .45; and
WHEREAS, the City plans to raise that sum by applying for a
Federal Intermodal Surface Transportation Efficiency Act ( ISTEA)
grant of $305, 617 . 00 and budgeting $47, 697 .45 of City funds as its
share of the matching funds; and
WHEREAS, it is necessary to adopt a resolution authorizing the
Mayor to sign the required grant documents and certifying the
availability of the City' s commitment to providing the matching
funds for the ISTEA grant;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON,
WASHINGTON, DO RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS :

SECTION I . The above recitals are found to be true and
correct .in all respects .
SECTION II . The Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized
to enter into an Interlocal Cooperative Agreement with the
Washington State Department of Transportation for grant funding for
the Street Overlay Program.
