RESOLUTION N0, 3071
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON,
AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO ENTER INTO AN
INTERLOCAL COOPERATIVE AGREEMENT WITH THE DEPARTMENT OF
METROPOLITAN SERVICES OF KING COUNTY (METRO) FOR DESIGN
AND CONSTRUCTION OF BUS ZONE ACCESSIBILITY IMPROVEMENTS.
WHEREAS, the Department of Metropolitan Services of King
County (METRO) operates wheelchair accessible buses; and
WHEREAS, the City is responsible for the design and
construction of improvements in its right-of-way, including bus
zone improvements; and
WHEREAS, not all bus zone improvements are wheelchair
accessible; and
WHEREAS, METRO has received certain monies from the Washington
State Department of Transportation for construction of bus zone
improvements to make the bus zones wheelchair accessible; and
WHEREAS, METRO wishes to contract with the City to pass
through the grant funds to the City for the purpose of the City
constructing bus zone improvements to make those zones accessible
to those with disabilities;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON,
WASHINGTON, DO RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS :
SECTION I. The above recitals are found to be true and
correct in all respects .
SECTION II. The Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized
to enter into an interlocal cooperative agreement with the
Department of Metropolitan Services of King County (METRO) for
design and construction of bus zone accessibility improvements .
