RESOLUTION NO. 2964
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON,
AUTHORIZING APPLICATION FOR FUNDING ASSISTANCE FOR AN
ACQUISITION PROJECT TO KING COUNTY AS PROVIDED BY THE
KING COUNTY CONSERVATION FUTURES LEVY FUND ACQUISITION
PROGRAM (SPRINGBROOK TRAIL) .
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Renton, Washington, has
approved a "Comprehensive Park, Recreation and Open Space Plan" and
"Trails Master Plan" for the urban area which identifies a trail
corridor located in the southwestern part of the City; and
WHEREAS, under the provisions of the King County Conservation
Futures Levy Fund, funding assistance has been. authorized and made:,
available to aid in financing the cost :of, open.. space . land for public
bodies; and
`WHEREAS, the. City Council of. the City o_f.. Renton-:.�cons ders: it in.
the best public interest to acquire 23 .78 acres of land in the
southwestern part of the City generally located along Springbrook
Creek;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON,
WASHINGTON, DO RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION I. The above recitals are found to be true and
correct in all respects .
SECTION II. The Mayor is authorized to make formal
application to King County for funding assistance.
SECTION III. Any fund assistance so received be used in the
acquisition of acreage located adjacent to the southwestern part of
the City of Renton, Washington.
RESOLUTION NO. 2964
SECTION IV. The City' s share of the project will be derived
from ace Open S Bond Issue Funds and Kin Count Fee-in-Lieu of
P P 9 Y
Funds .
SECTION V. This resolution shall becomeP art of a formal
application to King County.
SECTION VI. Adequate notification has been given and
opportunity provided for public input.
