HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES 2978 CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON RESOLUTION NO. 2978 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON, ESTABLISHING AN ERRATA PROCESS TO REVIEW INDIVIDUAL OR SITE SPECIFIC CONCERNS RELATING TO THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THE INTERIM LAND USE ELEMENT . OF THE COMPREHENSIVE PLAN, INTERIM AREA-WIDE ZONING AND INTERIM ZONING CODE. WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Renton has, in concert with the Planning Commission, undertaken a lengthy public process to adopt an Interim Land Use Element of the Comprehensive Plan, Interim Area-Wide Zoning and Interim Zoning Code; and WHEREAS, there was substantial public comment and a number of drafts of the various enactments; and WHEREAS "' it is inevitable that there will be remaining individual bri site specific concerns relating. to the implementation of the interim plan and ord.inances;- and WHEREAS, the City Council believes that it would be advisable to adopt a formal errata process; NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON, DO RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: SECTION I. The above recitals are found to be true and correct in all respects . SECTION II. War , City Attorney RES. 294 : 5/18/93 :as . 2 DRAFT INTERIM PLAN AND ZONING "ERRATA" PROCESS Purpose: During the period the Interim Land Use Element of the Comprehensive Plan, Areawide Zoning and Zoning Code are in effect, the City Administration and City Council will review individual or site specific concerns related to the implementation of the interim plan and ordinances. This review: will provide a process for the City to identify issues which were not noticed or considered. during the adoption of the Interim Land Use Element, Areawide Zoning and Zoning Code amendments, and to determine how these concerns can be addressed. Application: Any property owner or citizen may file an application for review of their concerns. No fee will be required. Administrative Review: With oversight by the Division Managers and the Department Administrator, the Current Planning and Long Range Planning Sections will review the applications and make the-following,determination's: 1. If the--concern is- administrative, the application-:will be referred,to. the Zoning Administrator for an administrative interpretation.. The administrative staff will maintain a log of the interpretations that.-have-been made, as information for the City Council during the second-phase of the Zoning Code update. 2. If the concern-is legislative and requires City Council review, the Long Range Planning staff will aggregate the applications on a regular basis and present them with their recommendation at the regular meetings of the City Council's Planning and Devel'opmen't Committee. 3. Applicants will be notified by ietter about the process that will followed for their request. City Council Review: After discussion and 'con"sid"eration, the Planning and Development Committee will refer the issue to the City' Council' for further discussion and Council action.
