RESOLUTION NO. 2991
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON,
AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO SIGN AN
INTERLOCAL COOPERATIVE AGREEMENT WITH THE STATE OF
WASHINGTON FOR THE CONSTRUCTION AND IMPROVEMENT OF A
STORM SYSTEM ON N.E. 5TH PLACE.
WHEREAS, the state of Washington owns and operates the Renton
Technical College (RTC) ; and
WHEREAS, stormwater from the RTC site is directed into an on-
site infiltration system which is connected to the City system
located at the intersection of Jefferson Avenue N.E. and N.E. 5th
Place; and
WHEREAS, excess stormwater from the RTC infiltration system
flows into the City system .located in N.E. 5th Place, and has
cau-sed stormwater to overflow out of the City system at catch
basins downstream of the connection; and
.WHEREAS, the March 25, 1991 decision by the Hearing Examiner
required that the applicant take storm drainage measures to solve
any flooding created by proposed and past RTC development; and
WHEREAS, the parties desire to enter into an interlocal
agreement setting forth the terms for design and construction of a
capital improvement project to increase the capacity of the
stormwater drainage system in N.E. 5th Place;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON,
WASHINGTON, DO RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION I. The above recitals are found to be true and
correct in all respects .

SECTION II. The Mayor and City Clerk of the City of Renton,
Washington, are hereby authorized to enter into an Interlocal
Cooperative Agreement with the state of Washington to construct the
N.E. 5th Place Storm System Replacement Project.
