HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES 3006 CITY OF RENTON WASHINGTON RESOLUTION NO. 3006 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON, DECLARING ITS INTENTION TO CONSTRUCT AND INSTALL A PUBLIC RAILROAD CROSSING WITH ROADWAY MODIFICATIONS TO INCLUDE A RETAINING WALL AND ALL NECESSARY APPURTENANCES THERETO AT 3700 LAKE WASHINGTON BOULEVARD, AS MORE PARTICULARLY DESCRIBED HEREIN; AND TO CREATE A LOCAL IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT TO ASSESS THE COST AND EXPENSE OF SAID IMPROVEMENT AGAINST THE PROPERTIES IN SUCH DISTRICT SPECIALLY BENEFITED THEREBY; NOTIFYING ALL PERSONS WHO MAY DESIRE TO OBJECT TO SAID IMPROVEMENT TO APPEAR AND PRESENT THEIR OBJECTIONS AT A MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL TO BE HELD ON NOVEMBER 8, 1993 AND CREATING LOCAL IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT NO. 336. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON, AS FOLLOWS: SECTION I . It is the intention of the City Council of the City of Renton, Washington, to construct and install a public railroad crossing and roadway modifications to include a retaining wall and all necessary appurtenances thereto, in the following described area of the City, to-wit: 1 . (a) Description of Local Improvement District No. 336 (See attached Exhibit A) (b) Improvements : ( See attached Exhibit B) There shall be included in the foregoing the acquisition and installation of all necessary valves, fittings, couplings, connections, equipment and appurtenances, and the acquisition of any easements, rights-of-way and land that may be required; and there shall further be included the performance of such work as may be incidental and necessary to the foregoing construction and installation. RESOLUTION NO. 3006 The City Council may, in its discretion, modify and amend the details of the foregoing described improvement, including the financing thereof, where in its judgment it appears advisable, provided such modifications and amendments do not substantially alter the general plan of said improvement project. All of the foregoing shall be in accordance with the plans and specifications therefor to be prepared by the Planning/Building/Public Works Administrator of the City of Renton. SECTION II. The entire cost and expense of said improvement, unless hereafter timely modified or amended by the City Council, shall be equitably borne by and assessed against the property specially benefited by such improvement to be included in the local improvement district to be established, embracing as near as may be all property specially benefited by such improvement. There shall be included in the cost and expense of said improvements all cost items specified in RCW 35 . 44 . 020 . The City of Renton intends to participate in cost and expenses of the project in an amount not to exceed $5, 833 . 41 . SECTION III . All persons who may desire to object to the improvement herein described are hereby notified to appear and present such objections at a meeting of the City Council to be held in the Council Chambers of the City Hall, Renton, Washington, at 7 : 30 p.m. on November 8, 1993, which time and place are hereby fixed for hearing all matters relating to said proposed improvement and all objections thereto and for determining the method of payment for said improvement. The City Clerk shall give notice of said hearing and said proposed improvement as required by law. RESOLUTION NO. 3006 SECTION IV. Lynn Guttmann, Planning/Building/Public Works Administrator, or her duly authorized representative, is hereby directed to submit to the City Council, on or before the aforesaid hearing date, all data and information required by law to be submitted. Date of Publication: October 8 & 10 , 1993 3 RESOLUTION 3006 EXHIBIT A LID # 336 Parcels of land situate in the east half of Section 31 Township 24 North Range 5 East of the Willamette Median more particularly described as follows: All of lots 14 through 67, Block A of C.D. Hillmans, Lake Washington Garden of Eden, Division No. 2 as recorded in Volume 11, page 64 of Plats, records of King County, Washington; together with lots 1 through 10, Block A of C.D. Hillmans, Lake Washington Garden of Eden, Division No. 1 as recorded in Volume 11, page 63 of Plats, records of King County, Washington. RESOLUTION 3006 EXHIBIT B LID # 336 Improvements to a private railroad crossing serving a public lake park at 3700 Lake Washington Boulevard. Said crossing will be reconstructed to provide a public turn around utilizing a retaining wall, asphalt paving, drainage pipe, and all necessary appurtenances. Said crossing will be designated a public crossing after improvements.
