CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON
RESOLUTION NO. 3011
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON,
AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO ENTER INTO AN
INTERLOCAL COOPERATIVE AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF
RENTON, METRO AND THE CITY OF SEATTLE FOR A STUDY ON THE
MARKETING AND DEMAND FOR REUSE WATER.
WHEREAS, the Municipality of Metropolitan Seattle (METRO) has
a wastewater treatment plant in Renton; and
WHEREAS, that wastewater treatment plant is one of the largest
potential sources for the production and sale of treated wastewater
effluent (reuse) ; and
WHEREAS, it would be advisable to conduct a study to analyze
the potential markets and demand for the use of reuse water; and
WHEREAS, the City of Renton is being asked to contribute
$4, 000 . 00 toward the study cost of $221, 000 . 00;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON,
WASHINGTON, DO RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS :
SECTION I . The above recitals are found to be true and
correct in all respects .
SECTION II . The Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized
to enter into an Interlocal Cooperative Agreement between the City
of Renton, METRO and the City of Seattle to perform a market and
demand study for the reuse water from the METRO wastewater
treatment plant and other potential sources .
