RESOLUTION NO. 3012
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON, DECLARING
AN EMERGENCY.
WHEREAS, City employees provide a number of routine services
to the City of Renton; and
WHEREAS, a number of City employees are presently on strike
through their union, Local 21R of AFSME; and
WHEREAS, the services normally provided by City employees are
of a critical nature; and
WHEREAS, the City usually contracts for outside services
through a bidding process or through requests for proposals; and
WHEREAS, there is not adequate time to use the bidding or
request for proposal processes;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON,
WASHINGTON, DO RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS :
SECTION I . The above recitals are found to be true and
correct in all respects .
SECTION II. The City Council declares an emergency and
authorizes the Administration to provide necessary services on an
emergency basis without going through the normal bidding and/or
request for proposal processes and to provide for those services
through direct contract, wherever necessary.
