RESOLUTION NO. 2884
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF RENTON WASHINGTON,

AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO ENTER INTO AN
INTERLOCAL COOPERATIVE AGREEMENT ESTABLISHING A COMBINED
REGIONAL EMERGENCY SERVICES UNIT.
WHEREAS, the municipalities within the Puget Sound area have
experienced increased need for police department specialty units,
commonly referred to as SWAT teams; and
WHEREAS, those specialty units have generally been acting
independently; and
WHEREAS, the specialty teams would be more responsive and
efficient if they could be combined in a multi-agency effort; and
WHEREAS, the cities of Renton, Auburn and Tukwila wish to

create such a multi-agency special team.9 Y P
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON,
WASHINGTON DO RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION I . The above recitals are found to be true and
correct in all respects .
SECTION II. The Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized
to enter into an Interlocal Cooperative Agreement for Combined
Regional Emergency Services Units .
