RESOLUTION NO. 291.0
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON,
AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO EXECUTE AN
INTERLOCAL COOPERATIVE AGREEMENT WITH THE STATE OF
WASHINGTON DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION RELATING TO A
BYPASS ROAD FOR THE RECONSTRUCTION OF I-405.
WHEREAS, the State of Washington Department of Transportation
is in the process of reconfiguring I-405 and realigning the S-
Curves on I-405; and
WHEREAS, a substantial savings in both time and money could be
realized by building a temporary bypass road; and
WHEREAS, that bypass road would necessarily be located on land
owned by the City of Renton Parks Department; and
WHEREAS, it will be necessary to enter into a contract to
define the conditions of use of the Parks Department lands
including the responsibility to pay fair market rental, return the
property to its original condition, and other topics; and
WHEREAS, such an agreement must be supported by a resolution
pursuant to state law.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON,
WASHINGTON, DO RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS :
SECTION I. The above recitals are found to be true and
correct in all respects .
SECTION II . The Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized
to enter into an agreement with the Washington State Department of
Transportation for the use of City of Renton Parks Department lands

upon which to construct a bypass road as part of the reconstruction
of I-405 .
