RESOLUTION NO. 2943
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON,
AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO ENTER INTO AN
INTERLOCAL COOPERATIVE AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF
RENTON AND THE WASHINGTON STATE DEPARTMENT OF FISHERIES
RELATING TO CEDAR RIVER DELTA PROJECT MITIGATION.
WHEREAS, the City of Renton and The Boeing Company proposed to
excavate sediments from the Cedar River Delta and place them in
Lake Washington on property owned by Boeing; and
WHEREAS, the Washington State Department of Fisheries has
determined that placing the excavated sediments in Lake Washington
will have an adverse impact to fish. habitat which must be
mitigated; and
WHEREAS, the City of Renton and the Washington State
Department of Fisheries have negotiated a mitigation agreement
which is documented by means of a written agreement.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON,
WASHINGTON, DO RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS :
SECTION I . The above recitals are found to be true and
correct in all respects .
SECTION II . The Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized
to enter into an Interlocal Cooperative Agreement between the City
of Renton and the Washington State Department of Fisheries for
Cedar River Delta Project mitigation.
