RESOLUTION NO. _ 2846
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON,
AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO EXECUTE A
MEMORANDUM OF AGREEMENT BY AND BETWEEN THE CITY OF RENTON
AND THE MUNICIPALITY OF METROPOLITAN SEATTLE FOR
IMPLEMENTATION OF METRO'S REGIONAL WASTEWATER TREATMENT
PLANT ENLARGEMENT III IN THE CITY OF RENTON.
WHEREAS, the Municipality of Metropolitan Seattle (Metro) is
planning on expanding its regional wastewater treatment plant in
the City of Renton; and
WHEREAS, that plant enlargement will have certain
environmental and monetary impacts on the City of Renton; and
WHEREAS, Metro wishes to mitigate the environmental impacts
and replace, enhance, or provide substitute monetary resources to
the City of Renton for the impacts caused by the enlargement of the
regional wastewater treatment plant; and
WHEREAS, the City of Renton and Metro have negotiated a
Memorandum of Agreement on how to replace, enhance, or provide
substitute resources or environments .
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON,
WASHINGTON, DO RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS :
SECTION I. The above recitals are found to be true and
correct in all respects .
SECTION II . The Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized
to execute the Memorandum of Agreement by and between the City of
Renton and the Municipality of Metropolitan Seattle (Metro) for
implementation of the municipality' s Regional Wastewater Treatment
Plant Enlargement III in the City of Renton in essentially the form

approved by the Renton City Council at its regular meeting of May
6, 1991 .
