0 RESOLUTION NO. 2851
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON,
AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO SIGN AN INTERLOCAL
COOPERATIVE AGREEMENT WITH THE CITY OF SEATTLE REGARDING
COSTS OF PROTECTING SEATTLE WATER LINES DURING ROAD
CONSTRUCTION.
WHEREAS, the City of Renton is performing certain work to widen
Benson Road; and
WHEREAS, the City of Seattle has the Cedar River Pipeline No. 4
crossing under that road; and
WHEREAS, the Seattle Water Department has asked for certain
bridging to be placed over that water line to protect the line from
additional loading due to the widening of the road bed; and
WHEREAS, the cities wish to enter into an agreement concerning
the reasonable cost of such bridging; and
WHEREAS, the City of Seattle Water Department has agreed to pay
the City of Renton for its actual reasonable costs, currently
estimated at $58, 129 .51 .
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON,
WASHINGTON, DO RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION I. The above recitals are found to be true and
correct in all respects.
SECTION II. The Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized
to sign an Interlocal Cooperative Agreement with the City of Seattle
whereby the Seattle Water Department will reimburse the City of
Renton for its reasonable costs in providing the bridging to protect
Cedar River Pipeline No. 4 as it crosses under Benson Road.
