RESOLUTION NO. 2871
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF RENTON
WASHINGTON
AUTHORIZING THE MAY '
OR AND
CITY CLERK TO ENTER INTO AN
INTERLOCAL COOPERATIVE AGREEMENT WITH KING COUNTY TO
ESTABLISH A GROWTH MANAGEMENT PLANNING COUNCIL OF KING
COUNTY TO ASSIST IN ' ADOPTING COUNTYWIDE PLANNING
POLICIES.
WHEREAS, the Growth Management Act RESHB 1025, adopted in
1991, requires that a process be established to adopt a countywide
planning policy; and
WHEREAS, the County, the City of Seattle and Suburban Cities
have developed a collaborative process to produce the countywide
planning policy; and
WHEREAS, the collaborative process involves the establishment
of a Growth Management Planning Council for King County pursuant to
written agreement; and
WHEREAS, the City of Renton has the power to enter into such
an agreement pursuant to the Interlocal Agreement Act, RCW 39 . 34;
and
WHEREAS, entering into such an agreement appears to be in the
interest of the citizens of the City of Renton.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON,
WASHINGTON, DO RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS :
SECTION I . The above recitals are found to be true and
correct in all respects .
SECTION II. The Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized
to enter into an Interlocal Agreement establishing the Growth
Management Planning Council of King County.
