RESOLUTION NO. 2712
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON
DECLARING AN EMERGENCY
WHEREAS the Texaco station on Houser Way & Bronson Way N. has
suffered a leak and contamination has occurred in Production Well
#3; and
WHEREAS immediate remedial measures need to be taken to
provide for the peak season water demands of City residents; and
WHEREAS new production wells are to be drilled at the Maple
Valley Golf Course; and
WHEREAS the bidding process for contracting the drilling on
these wells would delay the commencement of this project such
that it would not be completed in time for the peak season for
water use; NOW THEREFORE
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON, DO
RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION I: The above recitals are found to be true and
correct.
SECTION II: The City Council declares an emergency and
authorizes the Public Works Department to negotiate contracts for
and expedite the drilling for alternate production water wells at
Maple Valley Golf Course.
