RESOLUTION NO. 2731
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON,
AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO ENTER INTO AN
INTERLOCAL AGREEMENT WITH THE UNIVERSITY OF WASHINGTON AND
OTHER URBAN CITIES FOR AN ENVIRONMENTAL STUDY ON CANADIAN
GEESE.
WHEREAS, the City of Renton, Washington, has developed and
maintained certain water related parks; and
WHEREAS, Canadian geese are attracted to those parks where they
multiply and become resident birds, causing environmental problems
and conflicts with the park users; and
WHEREAS, one method of dealing with the Canadian geese would
require a fish and wildlife department permit; and
WHEREAS, further environmental studies will be necessary to
obtain sufficient data to make a meaningful application for such
permit; and
WHEREAS, the University of Washington and certain other
suburban cities desire to enter into an interlocal cooperative
agreement for the necessary study to provide such data, NOW
THEREFORE
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON, DO RESOLVE
AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION I : The above recitals are hereby found to be true
and correct in all respects .

SECTION II : The Mayor and City Clerk of the City of Renton,
Washington, are hereby authorized to enter into an Interlocal
Agreement with the University of Washington and other suburban
cities for an environmental study on Canadian geese in the Puget
Sound area.
