RESOLUTION NO. 2681
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON,
DECLARING AN EMERGENCY RE RECONSTRUCTION OF S.W. GRADY
WAY
WHEREAS S. W. Grady Way is a vital traffic link in the
street system of the City of Renton, and
s been under reconstruction

WHEREAS said S.W. Grady Way a
for the last year and will remain under construction during at
least the 1987 construction season, and
WHEREAS the reconstruction of S.W. Grady Way and the
construction of Oakesdale north of S.W. Grady Way must be
coordinated, and
WHEREAS the reconstruction of S .W. Grady Way must be
coordinated with the Fisheries Department because of realignment
of Springbrook Creek , and
WHEREAS the reconstruction of S .W. Grady may impact the
construction of the HOV lanes for I-405 and the construction of
the P-1 Channel and Oakesdale Avenue S.W. , underneath I-405, and
WHEREAS the materials on the reconstruction of S. W. Grady
Way are moisture sensitive, thereby limiting the construction
season to dry periods, and
WHEREAS rebidding the reconstruction of S.W. Grady Way would
cause the loss of most or all of the 1987 construction season,
and
WHEREAS the contractor on the reconstruction project of S.W.
Grady Way has been terminated for public convenience, and

WHEREAS reconstruction of S.W. Grady Way must be completed
in this calendar year to avoid massive dislocation of traffic
patterns within the City and dislocations upon the businesses
bordering upon S.W. Grady Way, now therefore,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON, DO
RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION I: The above recitals are true and correct.
SECTION II: The City Council hereby declares an emergency
concerning the reconstruction of S.W. Grady Way, and directs the
Public Works Department to negotiate a contract for the continued
reconstruction of S.W. Grady Way.
