RESOLUTION NO. 2683
CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON DECLARING AN EMERGENCY
RE: SEWER LINE WORK IN THE VICINITY OF SOUTH 2ND
AND EAST OF WELLS AVENUE SOUTH
WHEREAS , the sewer line located East of Wells Avenue South at
approximately South 2nd has recently suffered damage, and
WHEREAS, that sewer line is presently serving sewer customers,
and
WHEREAS , repairs must be done immediately to protect the
public' s safety, health and welfare, NOW THEREFORE
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON DO HEREBY
RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
1 ) The above recitals are true and correct.
2 ) The City Council of the City of Renton, Washington hereby
declares an emergency concerning repair work to the above sewer line,
authorizes the Public Works Department to negotiate with a contractor
to repair the sewer line or in the alternative perform the repairs
with City forces if permitted by law and authorizes the Public Works
Department to sign any necessary contract documents without the
necessity of obtaining public bids, the public bids being unnecessary
because of this declaration of emergency.
