HomeMy WebLinkAboutORD 3478 Amended.by-Ordinance No. 436; 5091 ORDINANCE NO._42& 5450,5551 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF PENTON, WASHINGTON STABLISHMENT MOTOR VEHICLE NOISE PERFORMANCE E STANDARDS, MAXIMUM ENVIRONMENTAL NOISE LEVELS, ADOPTING BY REFERENCE CERTAIN PROVISIONS OF THE WASHINGTON AD14INISTRATIVE CODE, AND ESTABLISHING PENALTIES FOR VIOLATION OF ANY PROVISIONS OF . THIS ORDINANCE. THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: SECTION I: Motor vehicle noise performance standards. The City Council of the City of Renton hereby adopts Washington Administrative Code Sections 173-62-020,-030, and-040. SECTION II: Maximum Environmental Noise Levels. The City Council of the City of Renton hereby adopt by reference Washington Administrative Code Sections 173-60-020, -040, -050, -090. SECTION III: Public Disturbance, Noises. It is unlawful for any person to cause, or for any person in possession of property to allow to originate from the property sound that is a public disturbance noise. The following sounds are hereby defined to be public disturbance noises. A. Frequent repetitive or continuous noises made by any animal which unreasonably disturbs or interferes with the peace, comfort or repose of property owners or possessors, except that such sounds made in animal shelters, commercial kennels, veterinary hospitals, pet shops, or pet kennels licensed as such, shall be exempt from this subsection; B. The frequent repetitive or continuous sounding of any horn or siren attached to a motor vehicle, except as a warning of danger, or as specifically permitted or required by law; C. The creation of frequent, repetitive or continuous sounds in connection with the starting, operation, repair, rebuilding, or testing of any motor vehicle,. motorcycle, off-highway vehicle, or internal combustion engine, within a rural or residential district, so as to unreasonably disturb or interfere with the peace, comfort and repose of .owners or possessors of real property; D.
