HomeMy WebLinkAboutORD 3602 y CITY OF RENTON , WASHINGTON ORDINA14CE 140. 3002 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON , AMENDING CHAPTER 3 OF TITLE VIII (HEALTH AND SANITATION) OF ORDINANCE NO. 1628 ENTITLED ` "CODE OF GENERAL ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF RENTON" RELATING TO REVISED RATES AND HOURS OF PICK - Up rHE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON , WASHINGTON, DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS : SECTION I : Existing Subsection (A) of Section 8-307 of Title VIII (Health and Sanitation) of Ordinance No. 1628 entitled "Code of General Ordinances of the City of Renton" is hereby amended as follows : Section 8-307 (A) , as. amended: Regular collections from as required business firms and commercial enterprises will be made as often4but shall not exceed one pickup per dav , five (5) days per week, Mondav through Friday , between the hours of four o ' clock (4: 00) A.M. and twelve o ' clock (12 : 00 ) P.M. (Noon) . SECTION II : Existing Section 8-309 of Title VIII (Health and Sanitation) of Ordinance No . 1628 entitled "Code of General Ordinances of the City of Renton" is hereby amended as to various paragraphs as follows : Section 3-309 (A) 1 , 2 and 3 , as amended: RATE FOR CHARGES : The following schedule be and the same is hereby adopted as a basis of classification and as a schedule of charges to be paid to and collected by the City for services rendered: (A) Collection of ;garbage , refuse and swill from residents dwellings shall be made once a week and the charges therefor shall b, as follows : 1 . For "garbage cans" and/or ",garbage units" as herein defined, placed not more than twenty five feet (25 ' ) from the edge of street , curb or alleywav abutting or adjoining unit serviced: Not more than 1 can per weep: $5 . 30 per month Not more than 2 cans per week 6 . 51 per month Each additional can 1 . 96 per month 2. For "garbage cans" and/or "garbage units" as herein defined, placed more than twenty five feet (25 ' ) but less than sixty feet (60 ' ) from the edge of the street , curb or alleyway abutting or adjoining unit serviced: Not more than 1 can per week $ 6 . 29 per month Not more than 2 cans per week 8. 29 per month ' Each additional can 2. 39 per month 3 . For "garbage cans" and/or "garbage units" as herein defined, that are placed more than sixtv feet (60 ' ) from the edge of street , curb , or alley abutting or adjoining unit serviced: Not more than 1 can per week $ 7 . 67 Der month Not more than 2 cans per week 9 . 82 per month Each additional can 2 . 56 per month Section 8-309 (B) 1 , 2 and 3 , as amended: (B) Collection of garbage, refuse and swill from business firms and commercial enterprises shall be made each weekday and the cahrges to be as follows : 1 . For the first twenty (20) "garbage ca:is" and/or "garbage units" as herein defined - one dollar thirty nine cents ($1 . 39) per can pickup per month 2 . Any Uarba¢e cans" or garbage units" as herein defined , inexcess of twenty (20) cans per month, one dollar thirty nine cents ($1 . 39) per can pickup per month provided, however, that the minimum monthly charge for each such business or commercial account shall be the sum of Nine dollars eighty-five cents ($9 . 85) per month. 3 . The rate for the handling of hydraulic handled contain( approved by the City ' s contractor and the City for the use by commercial , industrial and multiple dwelling establishments shall be as follows : 1 yard contained $ 7 . 88 per pickup 1 1/4 yard container 8 . 73 per pickup 1 1/2 yard container 10. 47 per pickup 2 vard container 13. 67 per pickup 20 yard container 68 . 06 per pickup plus dump fee 30 yard container 72. 33 per pickup plus dump fee 40 yard container 76 . 57 per pickup plus dump fee Compactors 3 . 39 per cubic yard plus dump fee Sewage grit 21 . 27 per ton plus dump fe( MINIMUM PICKUP 1 to 2 yard containers - once per week 20 to 40 yard containers - twice per month Compactors - twice per month Section 8-309 (D) 1 , as amended: 1 . Collection of Industrial Waste and Rates : "Industrial Waste" , as that term is herein defined, shall be collected by the City' s collector holding a valid and subsisting contract therefor, from the manufacuturing establishments having such wastes at the { rates and upon the terms established herein as the same may be amende- from time to time. The belowspecified rates and conditions are based on annual auantitites of "Industrial Wastes" of loose measure or equivalent in combination of loose and compacted waste. Dumping fees under (a) and (c) below are paid for by the manufacturer separately and are not included in said rates : (a) Forty (40) vard load of loose industrial waste , whether in Contractor ' s or Customer 's containers , exclusive of "dumping fee" at Disposal Facility. 25 , 000 to 45 , 000 cubic yard annually $ 72.33 per loa(i 45, 000 to 65 , 000 cubic yard annually 72 . 33 per loa 65 , 000 cubic vards and up 72 . 33 per loa( (b) All loose industrial waste hauled in other than Contractor' s or Customer's forty (40) yard containers including the "dumping fee" at Disposal Facility , but in the event the existing dumping fee is modified or revised, the hereinafter specified rate will be modified accordingly. 25, 000 to 45 , 000 cubic yards annually $10 . 93 per cubic 45 , 000 to 65, 000 cubic yards annually 10 . 93 per cubic 65 , 000 cubic yards and up 10 . 93 per cubic (c) Compacted industrial waste in customer-furnished containers , exclusive of "dumping fee" at disposal facility: 25 , 000 to 45 , 000 cubic yards annually $72 . 33 per load 45, 000 to 65 , 000 cubic yards annually 72. 33 per load 65 , 000 cubic yards and up 72 . 33 per load (d) Sand and slag hauled to Disposal Facility , including "dumping fee" for sand tubs $17. 36 per cubic yard, irrespective of annual volume (e) Rates for all industrial concerns not falling in above catagorias as herein set forth shall be as specified in subparagraph (B) 3 of Section 8-309 . All categories will be reviewed quarterly. If the user is not fallins into its specified categorv , an adjustment will be mad( at that time for the previous quarter. This adjustment may be in favor of the contractor or the user whichevc:- is appropriate. SECTIO14 III : Any and all ordinances or parts of ordinance; in conflict herewith are hereby repealed. SECTIO14 IV: This ordinance shall be effective with the January, 1982 collection and upon its passage , approval and five days afterits publication.
