ORDINANCE NO. _ 3639
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF RENTON , WASHINGTON
VACATING A PORTION OF JEFFERSON AVENUE N.E .
(ANDREW L. POLICH - VAC 02-82)
WHEREAS a proper petition for vacating a portion of

Jefferson Avenue N.E . , Penton, King County , Washington, was duly filed
with the City Cleric on or about January 26 , 1982 , and said petition
having been signed by the owners representing more than two-thirds
(2/3) of the property abutting upon such street sought to be vacated;
and
WHEREAS the City Council by Resolution No . 2436 passed and
approved on February 8 , 1982 , and after due investigation, did fix
and determine the 15th day of March, 1982 at the hour of 8 : 00 P .M.
in the City Council Chambers of the City of Renton to be the time
and place for a public hearing thereon, and the Citv Clerk having given
due notice of such hearing in the manner provided by law, and all
persons having been heard appearing in favor or in opposition thereto ;
and the City Council having considered all information and arguments
presented to it , and
WHEREAS the Department of Public Works , Department of
Policy Development and the Building Department of the City of Renton,
having duly considered said petition for said vacation, and having
found same to be in the public interest and for the public benefit ,
and no injury or damage to any person or properties will result from
such vacations ;
NOW THEREFORE , THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF P.EI3TON,
;.gASHINGTOINI, DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS :
SECTION I : The following described portion of Jefferson
Avenue N.E . , to- wit :
See Exhibit "A" attached hereto and made a -part hereof
as if fully set forth herein.
BE AND THE SA�,,FE IS HEREBY VACATED
SECTION II : The City Council hereby elects to charge a
fee of $ 25,138.88 to Petitioner-Owners , paid on June 17 1982 ,
receipt of which is acknowledged by the Citv of Renton, said amount
not exceeding one-half (1/2) of the City ' s appraisal of the right-of
way interest herein vacated, and such cizarge being reasonable and proper .
SECTIO d III : This Ordinance shall be effective upon its
passage, approval and five days after its publication.
A certified copy of this Ordinance shall be filed with the
Office of Records and Elections , and as otherwise provided by law.

That portion of Jefferson Avenue N.E. ( formerly known as "J" Street )
as shown on the Replat of Blocks 12, 13, 14, 36, 37 and 38 of the Corrected
Plat of Renton Highlands No. 2 according to the plat thereof recorded in
Volume 59 of plats pages 52 and 53, records of King County, Washington;
also as shown on the Plat of Fred Akers Real Estate No. 1 according to the
plat thereof recorded in Volume 63 of plats, page 72, records of said County,
described as follows:
Beginning at the most westerly corner of lot 5 of said plat of Fred Akers
Real Estate No. 1; thence S 52°51'00" E along the easterly margin of said
Jefferson Avenue N.E. ( "J" Street ) a distance of 32.05 feet to the True
Point of Beginning; thence southerly along said easterly margin along a
curve concave to the southwest having a radius of 225.00 feet through a
central angle of 68°56'00" an arc length of 270.70 feet; thence S 16°05 '00" W
along said easterly margin a distance of 1.11 feet to a point which is
15.21 feet northerly of the southwest corner of lot 8 of said plat of Fred
Akers Real Estate No. 1 as measured along the westerly line of said lot 8;
thence N 73°55'00" W a distance of 50.00 feet to the westerly margin of said
Jefferson Avenue N.E. ; thence along said westerly margin N 16°05'00" E a
distance of 1.11 feet; thence northerly along said westerly margin along a
curve concave to the southwest having a radius of 175.00 feet through a
central g
angle of 68°56'00" an arc length of 210.54 feet; thence N 37°09'00" E
a distance of 50.00 feet to the True Point of Beginning.
