N ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON ,
�1ENDING A PORTION OF SECTION 8-715 OF TITLE
VIII (HEALTH AND SANITATION) OF ORDINANCE NO .
1628 ENTITLED "CODE OF GENERAL ORDINANCES OF
THE CITY OF RENTON" RELATING TO SEWER CHARGES .
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON , DO
ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS :
SECTION I : Existing subsection A of Section 8-715 of
Chapter 7 , Title VIII (Health and Sanitation) of Ordinance No . 1628
entitled "Code of General Ordinances of the City of Renton" is
hereby amended as follows :
Section 8-715(A) , as amended : SEWER CHARGES , SPECIAL
RATES :
A. The monthly rates and charges for sewage disposal
service shall be as follows : t
1 . Single family dwelling units :
2 . All other users : A charge of Two dollars seventy
cents ($I . 70) per month for each nine hundred (900) cubic feet of
water used by apartments , multiple dwelling units of every type
and number , business , commercial , industrial and all other users .
3 . Charges for sewer service without City water . In
the event that water obtained from other sources than purchased
from th� City of Renton is either discahrged or drained into the
sewer system, single family dwellings and other users shall be
charged by one of two following methods :
a. Eight dollars fifty-five cents ($8 . 55) per single
family residence (Includes Five dollars eighty-five
cents ($5 . 35) Metro charge) .
b . Other than single family dwellings , the Director
of Public Works shall install a water meter into
such private water system at cost to property
owners and the method of billing shall be in
compliance with Section 8-715 (A) 2 .
SECTION II : Existing subsection (D) of Section 8-715
of Chapter 7 , Title VIII (Health and sanitation) of Ordinance No .
1628 entitled "Code of General Ordinances of the City of Renton" is
hereby amended as follows :
Section 8-715 (D) , as amended : In addition to the foregoili
charges specified in this Section, the following rates shall be
charged :
1 . A charge of Five dollars eighty-five cents ($5 . 85) per
month payable to "Metro" for each single family dwelling unit .
2 . A charge of Five dollars eighty-five cents ($5 . 85)
per month payable to "Metro" for each nine hundred (900) cubic feet
of water used by apartments , multiple dwelling units of every type
and number , business , commercial , industrial and all other users .
3 . Any additional charges hereafter imposed by "Metro"
under the "Industrial Cost Recovery" or "Industrial haste Surcharge"
programs required under the FWPCA (PL 92-500 ), Section 204 , or as
same may be amended hereafter plus 15% thereof as an additional char!
for the City' s cost of implementing such programs .
Every single person , sixty-two (62) years of age or older ,
and every single person totally and permanently disabled, residing ir,
a single family dwelling, either as owner or purchaser , whose income
from all sources is Six Hundred Dollars and six cents ($600 . 06) per
month or less , and Seven Thousand Two Hundred Dollars and seventy-
six cents ($7 , 200 . 76) per annum, or less , or in case of marital
community both parties , husband and wife , residing in a single
family dwelling , either as owner or purchaser , and both spouses
being sixty two (62) years of age or older , whose total income from
all sources is Nine Hundred Dollars and fourteen cents ($900 . 14)
per month, or less , and Ten Thousand Eight Hundred One Dollars and
eighty-one cents ($10 , 801 . 81) per annum, or less shall pay the
following rates for water and sewer services relating to such single
family dwelling in which such eligible person or persons permanently
reside .

One dollar ($1 . 00) per month including; the monthly
rate for sewage disposal for a single family
dwelling unit .
Any excess shall be charged as provided in Section
3-231 of Title III relating to water rates .
SECTION II : This Ordinance shall be effective with
billings computed on and after January 1 , 1983 and after its
passage , approval and five days after its publication .
