AN OI:DINANCI; OI' THE CITY OF RENTON , WASHINGTON ,
VACATING A PORTION OF PUBLIC RIGHT OF WAY
O (VAC 5-82 COOKS)
jWHEREAS a proper petition for vacating, a portion of Governm(
Lot 11 , Section 18 , Township 23 N . , Range 5 E . ,W.M. , in Renton ,
King Countv , Washington, was duly filed with the Citv Clerk on or
about February 17 , 1982 , and said petition having been signed by
the owners representing more than two-thirds (2/3) of the property
abutting upon such public right of way sought to be vacateu ; and
WHEREAS the City. Council by Resolution X10 . 2438 passed and
approved on march 1 , 1982 , and after due inveot4gation , did fix
and determine the 19th day of April. , 1982 , at the hour of 8 : 00 P . :1 -
in the Citv Council Chambers of the City of Renton to be the time
and place for a public hearing thereon , and the Citv Clerk having
given due notice of such hearing in the manner provided by law ,
and all persons having been heard appearing in favor or in opposit-i (
thereto ; and the Citv Council having considered all information
and arguments presented to it ; and
WHEREAS the Department of Public Works of the City of
i.enton having; dulv considered said petition for said vacation , and
having found same to be in the public interest and for the public
benefit , and no in_jury or damage to any person or properties
will result from such vacation ;
NOW THEREFORL , THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON ,
WASHINGTON , DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS :
SECTION I _ The following described portion of public
right-of-way , to-wit :
See Exhibit "A" attached hereto and made a part
hereof as if fully set forth
BE AND THE SANE IS lil?RELY VACATED .

SECTION II : The City Council hereby elects to charge a

fee of $ 11,347 to Petitioner-Owners , raid on December 20 1982 ,
receipt of which is acknowledged by the City of Renton, said
amount not exceeding one-half (1/2) of the City ' s appraisal of
the right-of-way interest herein vacated, and such charge being
reasonable and proper.
SECTION III : This Ordinance shall be effective upon its
passage , approval and five days after its publication.
A certified copy of this Ordinance shall be filed with the
Office of Records and Elections , and as otherwise provided by law .

Commencing at the intersection of the centerlines of the City of Seattle's

Avenue South a distance of 317.37 feet to the intersection with the centerline
