CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON
ORDINANCE NO. 3705
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON, ATTENDING
SECTION VI OF ORDINANCE NO . 3647 WHICH ESTABLISHED AN
ADDITIONAL ONE-HALF PERCENT SALES OR USE TAX WITHIN
THE CITY OF RENTON BY CHANGING AND EXTENDING THE LANGUAGE
OF THE SPECIAL INITIATIVE AND REFERENDUM SECTION OF
THAT ORDINANCE
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON, DO ORDAIN
AS FOLLOWS :
SECTION I : Existing Section VI of Ordinance No . 3647 of
the City of Renton, is hereby amended to read as follows :
SECTIO14 VI , as amended : This ordinance shall be subjEct to
a Special I itiative . The number of registered voters needed to
sign a petition for Special Initiative shall be fifteen percent of
the total number of names of persons listed as registered voters
within the city on the day of the last preceding municipal general
election. If a Special Initiative Petition is filed with the City
Council , the operation of this ordinance shall not be suspended
pending a final decision on the disposition of the Special Initiativf.
SECTION II : This Ordinance shall be effective upon its
passage , approval and thirty days after publication.
