ORDINANCE NO. 3753
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON,
AMENDING THE UTILITY TAX RATE AS IT APPLIES TO
THE PRIVILEGE OF CONDUCTING A TELEPHONE
BUSINESS .
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON,- WASHINGTON DO
ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS :
SECTION I : The utility tax presently in force for the
privilege of conducting a telephone business within the city limits
of the City of Renton is 7 .47,. . The 1982 Legislature by engross
Senate Bill No. 4972, Section 4, required the City to lower that
utility tax to the rate of 6% by means of alternative calculations .
The 1983 Legislature in Senate House Bill No. 263 modified the
decrease in utility tax and requires that the utility tax be reduced ,
. 175% effective January 1 , 1984.
SECTION II : The City's utility tax rate as it applies to
the privilege of conducting telphone business within the City limits
of the City of. Renton shall be 7 . 225% effective January 1, 1984 to be.
reduced henceforth as required by the legislation detailed in Section
I above.
SECTION III : This Ordinance shall be effective upon its
passage, approval and thirty days after publication.
