HomeMy WebLinkAboutORD 3764 f CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON 41 ORDINANCE NO. 3764 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON, FIXING THE ESTIMATED AMOUNT OF TAX LEVIES NECESSARY TO RAISE THE AMOUNT OF THE ESTIMATED EXPENDITURES FOR THE YEAR 1984 AS REQUIRED BY RCW 84.52.020; AUTHORIZING THE CITY CLERK TO CERTIFY SUCH BUDGET OR ESTIMATE OF THE AMOUNT TO BE RAISED BY TAXATION ON THE ASSESSED VALUATION OF THE PROPERTY LOCATED WITHIN THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON. THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON, DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: SECTION I: Pursuant to the requirements of RCW 84.52..020, the City of Renton shall annually certify to King County the amount of levies to be made in support of the City for the ensuing year in total and by individual fund. Pursuant thereto, it is hereby certified that the estimated amount necessary to be raised by taxation is the sum of $5,057,557.60, General Levy for the calendar year 1984, and $500,000.00, Excess Levy for the calendar year 1984, and said amount of tax levy is necessaryto be levied upon the real and personal property subject to taxation in the City of Renton for the purpose of raisin the g necessary revenues for said City for the calendar year 1984, to-wit: (TOTAL ASSESSED VALUATION: $2,030,798,999) GENERAL 1984 LEVY: $2.48141 per $1,000 true value *Levy Ceiling $5,039,240.45 Annexations -0- Prior Year Omitted Levies 15,971.29 Refund Fund 2,345.86 MAXIMUM 1984 GENERAL TAX LEVY $5,057,557.60 (Based on 106% Limit) EXCESS 1984 LEVY: $0.24621 per $1,000 of true value Total 1984 EXCESS LEVY $ 500,000.00 *Levy Ceiling: $5,012, 763.62 - 6% on highest of three most recent year's levies, 1983/ $4,729,022.28 (less Refund Fund) 42,448. 12 - New Construction Levy ($2. 01806 1983 tax rate x' $21,034, 120/new constr.) -15,971.29- Omitted Assessment Levy (Subtract) $5,039,240.45 - Levy Ceiling (Discounting Annexations and Omitted Assessments) I , CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON ORDINANCE NO. 17AA - Continued SECTION II: That said taxes herein provided for are levied for the purpose of raising revenue sufficient to pay the principal and interest upon the general bonded indebtedness of the City of Renton, the General Fund, and departments of th munici al overnment of o f differente for carrying o o the ep 9 the City of Renton for the fiscal year beginning January 1, 1984 and ending December 31, 1984; the final budget of the City of Renton is to be adopted and completed as specified by law. SECTION III: That the taxes collected from the levies hereby fixed and made, together with the estimated revenues from sources other than taxation which constitute the appropriations of the City of Renton for the fiscal year 1984, shall be so appropriated and as finally itemized and classified in the Annual Budget for the fiscal year 1984 to be adopted by the City of Renton as specified in Chapter 95, Laws of 1969, Extraordinary Session, as amended: SECTION IV: A certifiedcopyof this ordinance shall be transmitted to r Office the Clerk of the Kin Count Council and the Kin Count Assessor's 0 Ce 9 y 9 y and such other governmental bodies as provided by law.
