ORDINANCE NO. 3830
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON
AMENDING A PORTION OF CHAPTER 22, TITLE I
(ADMINISTRATIVE) REGARDING COURT HOURS AND-AMEND-
ING CHAPTER 3 , TITLE I (ADMINISTRATIVE) REGARDING
GENERAL PENALTIES OF ORDINANCE Nb. 1628 .ENTITLED
"CODE OF GENERAL ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF RENTON"
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON, DO ORDAIN
AS FOLLOWS :
SECTION I : Existing Section 1-2205 of Title I, (Administrative)
of Ordinance No. 1628 entitled "Code of General Ordinances of the City
of Renton" i.s hereby amended to read as follows :
Section 1-2205 , as amended: The .Municipal Court shall be open
and shall hold regular sessions on the dates and times established
by the Municipal Court Judge. Additional court times beyond the
regular sessions may be established when the need arises .
SECTION II : Existing Section 1-301 of Title I (Administrative)
of Ordinance No. 1628 entitled "Code of General Ordinances of the City
of Renton" is hereby amended to read as follows.:
Section 1-301, as amended: GENERAL PENALTY: Any person convicted
of a mi.sd.emeanor or a violation of any section of this Code shall be
fined in a sum not exceeding Five. Hundred dollars (.$500. 00) for any one
offense or confined in the City Jail not more than one hundred eighty
(180) days or both. such_ fine and imprisonment. Whenever a specific
penalty or range of penalties has been established for a crime by the
r'
State Legis.l4ture and that crime has been incorporated into the
City` s Criminal Code either directly or by reference, then the
penalty ranges established by the Legislature shall govern and this
provision shall not be enforced.
SECTION III.: This Ordinance shall be effective upon its
passage, approval and thirty (30) days after publication.
