HomeMy WebLinkAboutORD 3867 CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON ORDINANCE NO. �Rh7 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON, AMENDING CHAPTER 2 OF TITLE III (DEPARTMENTS) OF ORDINANCE NO. 1628 ENTITLED "CODE OF GENERAL ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF RENTON" RELATING TO METERED WATER SERVICE. THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON, DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: SECTION I: Existing Section 3-23.1, subsections (A) and (B) of Chapter 2, Title III (Departments) of Ordinance No. 1628 entitled "Code of General Ordinances of the City of Renton" are hereby amended to read as follows: Section 3=231(A) ; as amended: CHARGES FOR METERED WATER SERVICE INSIDE THE CITY: (A) The minimum rates for metered water supplied within the City in one month or fractional period thereof are hereby fixed as specified in the following schedule: Size of Service Total Service Charge 3/4 -3.10 1" 4.05 11' 6-.35 2" 10.45 3i' 21.10 4" 36.45 611 8,1 78.75 139.05 10" 215.95 12" 309.50 CommoditRates Cost/100 Cubic Feet 0- 2,500 cubic feet .75 2,500-35,000 cubic feet .70 Over 35,000 cubic feet .61 Section 3-231(6) ; as amended: The following rates are hereby established for certain senior citizens who are economically disadvantaged as herein set forth: Every single person, sixty-two (62) years of age or older and every single, Y 9 e. person totally and permanently disabled, residing in a single-family dwelling, either as owner or purchaser, whose income from all sources is Six hundred forty-two dollars and eighty cents ($642.80) per month, or less, and Seven thousand seven hundred thirteen dollars and sixty cents ($1,713.60) per annum, or less, or, in the case of marital community, both parties, husband and wife, residing in a single- family dwelling, either as owner or purchaser, and both spouses being sixty-two (62) years of age or older whose total income from all sources is Nine hundred sixty-four dollars and twenty-six cents ($964.26) per month, or less, and Eleven thousand five hundred seventy-one dollars and twelve cents ($11,571.12) per annum, or less, shall pay the following rates for water and sewer services relating to such single-family dwelling in which such eligible person or persons permanently reside: One dollar ($1.00) per month, limited to nine hundred (900) cubic feet of water per month. Any excess shall be charged as provided in Section 3-231(A) of Title III relating to water services. SECTION II: This ordinance shall become effective with billings computed on or after January 1, 1985, and after its passage, approval , and five days after its publication. e PASSED BY THE CITY COUNCIL this 3rd day of December, 1984.
