HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES 2162 CITY OF RENTON, WASHIN.G.TON RESOLUTION NO ,' 2126.2 WHEREAS it is advisable: to provide and establish -definite guidelines and standards concerning the furnishing of sanitary sewer services to property owners residing outside the present or. future City Limitsof the City of Renton, and WHEREAS the City Council does hereby set forth such appropriate guidelines for the benefit of the: various departments of the City, NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON, AS FOLLOWS: SECTTON 'I ; The following standards and guidelines are hereby established and shall be generally adhered to by the: various with City Departments in dealing/and considering applications by property owners for connection to sanitary sewer lines whenever such property owners are residing outside the present and future City Limits , to-wit A, Hookups to sanitary sewer lines owned by the City may be permitted upon payment of the appropriate fee set forth by ordinance , together with latecomer charges , if any, when such sanitary sewer line is located outside/inside the City limits and the property of the petitioning owner is located adjacent to or adjoining such existing sanitary sewer line; AND PROVIDED FURTHER that the following addirional conditions are met; 1, Prior to any permit for hookup, an up to date determination shall be made by the City and/or King County Health Department to determine that a serious and imminent threat to public health exists on such adjoining or adjacent property or property within the. City caused by such adjoining or adjacent property requiring immediate remedial action, i.e, connection to an existing sanitary sewer. 2 . That there is not available to any such adjacent or adjoining owner any reasonable alternate means to remedy such situation; reasonable alternates may include formation of a Local Improve- ment District for sanitary sewers or agreement with any other governmental agency: to serve such property owner. 3F Hookups to sanitary sewers by owners outside the City limits shall be permitted only by_ those , individuals having__ St,ructures exi__sti_:dig prior to December 1976 wi ith prvate• sewer systems (septi'C-tanks) an shallnobe"p"e mi`ted 'for any new construction. ..1- c4 B. For a showing that a serious and/or imminent threat to public health exists, determined by. the City., and/or the Seattle King County Health Department, the City Council, upon recommendation of. the City Engineering Department, may waive or modify any of the foregoing conditions . SECTION II ; These guidelines and standards shall be and remain in full force and effect until modified or amended by the City Council.
