RESOLUTION NO. 2170
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON,
DECLARING ITS INTENTION TO CONSTRUCT AND
INSTALL UNDERGROUND POWER AND OTHER UTILITY LINES
AND IMPROVEMENTS INCIDENTAL THERETO IN THE VICINITY
OF MONTEREY TERRACE AND TO CREATE A LOCAL IMPROVEMENT
DISTRICT TO ASSESS THE COST AND EXPENSE OF SAID
IMPROVEMENT AGAINST THE PROPERTIES IN SUCH DISTRICT
SPECIALLY BENEFITED THEREBY; NOTIFYING ALL PERSONS
WHO MAY DESIRE TO OBJECT TO SAID IMPROVEMENT TO
APPEAR AND PRESENT THEIR OBJECTIONS AT A MEETING OF
THE CITY COUNCIL TO BE HELD ON APRIL 24 , 1978
AND CREATING LOCAL IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT NO. 309
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE '
CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON, AS FOLLOWS :
SECTION I : That it is the intention of the City Council
of the City of Renton, Washington, to construct and install.
the following underground ewer and other utility lines by
conversion from overtead lines , together with accessories and
appurtenances thereto, in the following described area of the
City, to-wit:
1. (a) Description of Local Improvement District No. 309
Blk-1 Lots 1 through 17 inclusive , Blk-2 Lots 1 through 18 incl.
Blk-3 Lots 1 through 15 inclusive, Blk-4 Lots 1 through 17 incl.
all of Monterey Terrace Addition as recorded in Vol. 50 of plats ,
page 36, records of King County, Washington .
As situated within the NE 1/4 of Section 17 , Township 23 N . ,
Range 5 E . , W.M.
(b) Improvements :
Improvements shall consist of converting existing overhead
electrical and communication facilities to an underground
location in accordance with Ordinance #2432 and as is amended
in Ordinance #2496. The improvements shall include new street
lighting.
See Exhibit "A" attached hereto and made a part hereof as if
fully set forth. he en
There shall be included in the foregoing the acquisition
and installation of all connections , equipment and appurtenances ,
and the acquisition of any easements , rights-of-way and land
that may be required; and there shall further be included the
performance of such work as may be incidental and necessary to
the foregoing construction and installation.

The City Council may, in its discretion, modify and amend
the details of the foregoing described improvement, including
the financing thereof, where in its judgment it appears advisable,
provided such modifications and amendments do not substantially
alter the general plan of said improvement project. All of the
foregoing shall be in accordance with the plans and specifications
therefor to be prepared by the Director of Public Works of the
City of Renton.
SECTION II: The entire cost and expense of said improvement
unless hereafter timely modified or amended by the City Council,
shall be borne by and assessed against the property specially
benefited by such improvement to be included in the local improve-
ment district to be established, embracing as near as may be
all property specially benefited by such improvement. There
shall be included in the cost and expense of said improvements
all cost items specified in RCW 35 . 44. 020 .
SECTION III : That all persons who may desire to object
to the improvement herein described are hereby notified to appear
and present such objections at a meeting of the City Council
to be held in the Council Chambers of the City Hall, Renton,
Washington at 8 : 00 P.M. on April 24 , 1978 which time
and place are hereby fixed for hearing all matters relating to
said proposed improvement and all objections thereto and for
determining the method of payment for said improvement. The
City Clerk shall give notice of said hearing and said proposed
improvement as L•equircd by law.
SECTION IV: Warren Gonnason, Public Works Director,
or his duly authorized representative , is hereby directed to
submit to the City Council, on or before the aforesaid hearing
date, all data and information required by law to be submitted.
