CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON
RESOLUTION NO. 2100
WHEREAS Chapter 208, 1973 Session Laws , First Ex. Session
of the State of Washirgton Legislature entitled "Emergency Medical Care
and Transportation SErvices" pre-empted the matter of licensing and
regulating ambulance services , and
WHEREAS the. City heretofore repealed Chapter 33 of Title
V (Business Regilations) of OrdinanceNo. 1628 entitled "Code of General
Ordinances of the City of Renton" also known as the "Renton Ordinance
Regulating Ambulances" , and
WHEREAS the City is the owner and operator of a certain
Aid Car underthejurisdiction of the City' s. Fire Department, and
WHEREAS said Aid Car responds, under certain conditions to
emergency situations , and
WHEREAS it is deemed advisable toetablish certain rules,
regulations and charges for any such services rendered by such Aid
Car, NOW THEREFORE
THE CITY. COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON DO RESOLVE
AS FOLLOWS:
SECT'I::ON I: Theabove findings and recitals are hereby.
found to be true and correct in allrespects .
SECTION II : The. City Fire Department may respond to any
emergency situation and/or the transportation of any patient to a
hospital, nursing or convalescent home , or for any emergency treatment
wherwer such a patient is in critical condition and no licensed
privately owned ambulance is immediately available; or there is a
lack of ambulance or ambulances to timely respond tothe scene to
render such aid to a patient; or when a number of patients are in
dire need of transportation to a hospital, nursing home or convalescent
home, or other emergency treatment facility and a bona fide emergency
exists therefor.

Wheneversuch•services are rendered by the City' s Aid Car,
a charge of TweniV Dollars ( $20 . 00) shall be made to- the. .patient/and/or
person authorizing .such services . Such billing shall be underthe.
jurisdiction of the Director of Finance of the City. of Renton.
In all othercases any duly licensed ambulance service shall
transport such patient when.evrr: the custody of .such patient has been
released to such licensee. Noeffort shall bemade bysuch licenseeto.
assume the .custody of the patient before release of custody has been:n
made by the officerin charge.
