HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES 2141 • y ' .4 • CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON RESOLUTION NO . 2141 WHEREAS the City Council of the City of Renton,Washington has previously established an informal procedure for the circulation and forwarding of decisions of the Land Use Hearing Examiner, and 1 WHEREAS the Councilwishes to modify such procedures and formalize the same, NOW THEREFORE THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON DO RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS : SECTION I : The above recitals are found to be true and correct in all respects . SECTION II: The following procedures are established for the circulation of the Decisions of the Land Use Hearing Examiner and for establishing hearing dates for the City Council to consider said decisions : 1. Whenever final Council action is required on any decision of the Land Use Hearing Examiner all reports from the Examiner shall be forwarded to the Planning and Development Committee and to all Council members within seven ( 7) days after the same have been issued . 2 . The Committee will review the decision within fourteen (l4) days following receipt, whenever practical, and the Committee. will report to the Council with the Committee ' s recommendations when the matter appears on the Council Agenda. The time period for the Committee report will be lengthened or shortened by the vote of the Committee . • 3 . Where final Council action is required, all reports from the Land Use Hearing Examiner shall be forwarded to the City Clerk after the fourteen (14) day period for reconsideration or appeal has run and thereafter the City Clerk shall place the matter on the Council Agenda for the next regularly scheduled Council Meeting . -1- L A. .t ... ; F 7 1 . 4 . When there is no appeal -from. the decision of the ILand Use Hearing Examiner, the matter shall be placed on the Consent Agenda when it comes before the Co-uncil•. 1 5 . Whenever a decision of the Land Use Hearing Examiner I is appealed to the City Council, the City Clerk shall delay placing 1 the matter on the Council Agenda for a period of seven (7) days . beyond the date when itr:would normally be scheduled as detailed in 3 paragraph 3 hereinabove . This additional time period is to permit the Planning and Development Committee adequate time to review the appeal of the decision and to formulate its recommendations to the Council . 6 , If a decision of the Land Use Hearing Examiner is appealed to the Council, once the matter is set on the Council Agenda, it- shall be placed on the regular Agenda, but no public hearing shall be scheduled.
