CITY. OF RENTON, WASHINGTON
RESOLUT.I.ON NO.. 2017
WHEREAS
the Cityof Renton has heretofore established
a Fair Practices Policy and an Affirmative. Action Program, aid
WHEREAS it is 'deemed necessary and in the .public interest
to amend such prior Policy and Program in ordertoinclude in its
coverage those persons whoare suffering from mental and/or sensory
disabilities.;: . and to include under the Policy and Program the
subjectof marital status , together with additional amendments
thereto, and
WHEREAS it is advisable .to adopt such Policy and Program
as amended; NOW THEREFORE
THE CITY COUNCIL 'OF THE CITY OF RENTON,: WASHINGTON,: DO
RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION :I : That certain Fair Practices Policy and
the Affirmative Action Program, as amended., true summaries thereof
being attached hereto, labeled Exhibits "A" and "B" respectively,
and made .a part hereof as if fully set forth., are herebyadopted
and established asthe City of Rerrton' s. Fair Practices Policy and
Affirmative Action Program.
SECTION II : The Mayor shall appoint an Equal Employment
Opportunity. Officer, which appintment shall 'be'. 'with. the. concurrence
of the :City Council. Such officer shall serve :at .the pleasure of
the appointing authority, and shall have those duties, among others ,
as contained in the attached Exhibits "A" and "B" .
