CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON RESOLUTION NO . 2063 THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON , WASHINGTON, DO RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS : SECTION I : Resolution No. 1963. passed and approved by the Mayor and City Council under date of March 3 , 1975 , beand the same is hereby amended in the following manner: Existing Section III is hereby amended to read as follows : Section III, as amended : In case of all salaried employees, the proper department head shall determine when an employee should be authorized to attend meeting ,: conventions and other activities relating to official City business , provided the City Council shall timely approve such authorization unless such attendance is of a routine or regular nature and does not involve any "in" or "out" of State travel expenses in which case the Council' s approval shall not be required. (a) In case of members 'of boards or commissions of the City, a majority vote of the members of such bodies shall determine the authorized attendance at such official meetings, conventions and related Cityactivities, except however, that in the .event of "in" or "out" of State travel by any .such official, authorization therefore must be passed upon by the Finance Committee of the City Council prior to any final action by the City Council. (b.) In case of members of the City. Counf, approval of such authorized attendance at official meetings , conventions or related activities shall be by a majority vote of the City Council; in the event of out of State travel, such authorization must also be given by the Council' s Finance Committee prior to any final action thereon by. the City. Council. (c) Whenever possible preference shall be given to those officials of the City' s staff and the Council's committee who are primarily and directly concerned withthe particular subject matter of any official meeting or convention. The purpose of the foregoing is -1- • 4 4. j I • to allow those Cityofficials of a particular department and/or the members of thecorresponding committee of the City Ccancil a preferential right to participate in the official meetings and conventions which relate or pertain most directly to their particular function and responsibility. SECTION II : All other provisions of Resolution No. 1963 not expressly modified hereinabove shall remain in full force and effect.
