CITY OF RENTON , WASHINGTON
RESOLUTION NO . 1966
WHEREAS it has been determined by the City of Renton ,
Washington , that the following named persons , to-wit:
MIKE ZARAGOZA of C-975 Harrington N.E. , Renton, Wn.
DEBBIE McCREADY of 2318 N.E. 10th, Renton, Wn.
performed a valiant and courageous service on or about January 29 ,
1975 , at and near the Lake Washington Beach Park in attempting to
save the life of another human being from drowning , and
WHEREAS the above named persons made every attempt , in full
disregard of their own safety and well-being, to free and extract
such person from the automobile in which he was confined , and
WHEREAS said persons displayed considerable courage and
determination in such rescue operation, NOW THEREFORE
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF RENTON, WASHINGTON, AS FOLLOWS :
SECTION I: " The City of Renton hereby expresses its
appreciation and gratitude to MIKE ZARAGOZA and DEBBIE McCREADY for
their outstanding and unselfish attempt to save the life of another
human being as above stated.
SECTION II : It is the hope of the City of Renton that
this action on the part of the aforementioned two persons constitutes
an inspiration and example to others in their display of determination
and courage.
PASSED BY THE CITY COUNCIL this 17th day of March, 1975 .
