CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON
RESOLUTION N0. 1940
WHEREAS the CITY OF RENTON , WASHINGTON, U. S.A. , and the CITY
OF NISHIWAKI , HYOGO , JAPAN , have been sister cities for several
years past , and
WHEREAS such relationship has resulted in closer and more cort�ial
relationships between our two cities and our respective countries , and
[n1HEREAS certain governmental officials of the City of Nishiwaki ,
as well as members of their local Lions Club recently visited the
City of Renton and its officials , and
WHEREAS such recent meetings further assisted in establishing
closer and firmer relationships between our respective communities ,
NOW THEREFORE
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REN�'ON DO RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS :
SECTION I : The City of Renton, Washington , U. S.A. hereby
extends its gratitude and appreciation to the Mayor of Nishiwaki City ,
and his official family , and the members of the Nishiwaki Lions Club ,
for their visit to our City , and with special thanks for the gifts
received.
It is the continuous hope and firm dedication of our
City that these visits must continue in future years so as to further
improve and cement the cordial relationship between our Cities .
SECTION II : The City Council of the City of Renton further II
extends its gratitude to the Renton Lions Club for playing an
indispensable part in the furtherance of the Sister City program.
