CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON
RESOLUTI.ON N0. � ��
�IHEREAS the City Council of the City of Renton, Washington has
heretofore given diligent and complete study to the proposal by the
Puget Sound Governmental Conference entitled" P S G C Position Statement" , �,
and I
WHEREAS the City Council continues to believe that said Govern- I�
mental Conference has and shall continue to serve primarily as a
coordinating agency on a regional basis , and that local governmental
entities sh_all continue to enforce and regulate their o�n 7.oca1
p�oblems , and
WHEREAS th.e City Council belieies that the proposal by the Puget
Sound Governmental Conference uzould deviate from its previous policies
of regional revie�,r, advice and recommendations , but in lieu thereof,
and in addition thereto, also acquire enforcement powers and jurisdiction
over local communities , and
TnIHEREAS the City of Renton believes that such change in past
polici.es and procedures caould not be in the be�t interests of the local
communities , NOW THEREFORE,
B.E I.T RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
RENTON, [�TASHINGTON, AS FOLLO�c�TS:
Section I: The City Counc�l finds that the above findings and
recitals are true and correct in all respects .
Section II : The City of Renton hereby goes on record of opposing
the proposal made by the Puget Sound Governmental Conference
entitled "P S G C Position Statement" ,
in that any such proposal r�rould change and deviate from past practices
and procedures as to matters of jurisdiction affecting said Governmental
Conference and the local governmental entities within its jurisdiction.
'Phe City of Renton recommends that the Governmental Conference should
ihave the right of review, recommendation and advice of and to local
communities , but that all matters within such City' s jurisdiction shall
be enforced and regulated solely by such governmental agency, and not
