RESOLUTION NO. 4089
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON, AUTHORIZING THE
MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO EXECUTE A PARTIAL REQUIREMENTS CONTRACT
FOR THE SUPPLY OF WATER WITH SEATTLE PUBLIC UTILITIES.
WHEREAS, the City and the City of Seattle, hereinafter referred to as "Seattle Public
Utilities", entered into a Seattle Water Purveyor Contract in 1998, which is set to expire by
December 31, 2011; and
WHEREAS, the City and Seattle Public Utilities have completed negotiations for a new
50-year Partial Requirements Contract by which Seattle Public Utilities will provide water supply
to the City even though the City supplies most of its retail water service area with its own and
independent sources of water supply; and
WHEREAS, the City and Seattle Public Utilities have negotiated alternative provisions to
the Partial Requirements Contract by which Seattle Public Utilities will provide regional water
conservation services to the City; and
WHEREAS, it would be in the public's best interest to have the Partial Requirements
Contract executed;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON, DOES
RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION I. The above recitals are found to be true and correct in all respects.
SECTION II. The Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized to execute the Partial
Requirements Contract for the supply of water with Seattle Public Utilities.
