C TY OF RENTON WASHINGTON AMENDING
AN ORDINANCE OF THE I , ,
CHAPTER 5, COUNCIL, OF TITLE I (ADMINISTRATIVE) , OF
ORDINANCE NO. 4260 ENTITLED "CODE OF GENERAL ORDINANCES
OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON" BY REVISING COUNCIL
MEMBERS' SALARIES.
SECTION I. Section 1-5-1 of Chapter 5, Council, of Title I
(Administrative) , of Ordinance No. 4260 entitled "Code of General
Ordinances of the City of Renton, Washington" is hereby amended to
read as follows:
1-5-1: NUMBER OF COUNCIL MEMBERS; DUTIES; SALARIES: The
City of Renton is a noncharter code City under the laws and
statutes of the State of Washington, and its City Council shall
consist of seven (7 ) members who shall be elected at large.
The duties of Council members shall be those prescribed in RCW
35A. 12 .010 et seq, and as otherwise provided by law.
The salaries of the Council members are hereby fixed at seven
hundred ($700 . 00) per month and as otherwise provided by the City' s
budget ordinance from time to time; provided, however, the
compensation of such elected officials who fix their own
compensation shall not be increased during their terms of office,
and as limited by the Constitution and statues of the State of
Washington.
SECTION II. This Ordinance shall be effective. upon its
passage, approval, and thirty days after its publication.=� .
