HomeMy WebLinkAboutORD 4538 Amends ORD 4346 Amended by ORD 4835 CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON ORDINANCE N0. 4538 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON, AMENDING SUBSECTION 4-32-3 .C.1 OF CHAPTER 32, WETLANDS MANAGEMENT, OF TITLE IV (BUILDING REGULATIONS) , OF ORDINANCE NO. 4260 i ENTITLED "CODE OF GENERAL ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF i RENTON; WASHINGTON" BY ADOPTING THE 1987 U.S. ARMY CORPS OF ENGINEERS WETLANDS DELINEATION MANUAL. THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON, DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: SECTION I. Section 4-32-3 .C. 1 of Chapter 32, Wetlands Management, of Title IV (Building Regulations) , of Ordinance No. 4260 entitled "Code of General Ordinances of the City of Renton, Washington" is hereby amended to read as follows : 4-32-3.C.1: Wetlands are those lands transitional between terrestrial and aquatic systems that are inundated or saturated by ground or surface water at a frequency and duration sufficient to support and, under normal circumstances, do support a prevalence of vegetation typically adapted for life in saturated soil conditions . I ' For the purpose of regulation, the exact location of the wetland edge shall be determined by the wetlands specialist hired at the expense of the applicant through the performance of a field investigation using the procedures provided in the following manuals: Federal Interagency Committee for Wetland Delineation, 1987, Federal Manual for ldentifying and Delineating Jurisdictional Wetlands, U. S. Army Corps of Engineers, U. S. Environmental � Protection Agency, U. S. Fish and Wildlife Service, U. S.D.A. Soil ORDINANCE NO. 4538 Conservation Service. Washin ton D.C. Wetlands intentionally created for ; purposes other than wetland mitigation, including, but not .limited � I to, stormwater management, wastewater treatment or landscape , amenities are not considered regulated wetlands . � SECTION II . This Ordinance shall be effective upon its passage, approval, and thirty (30) days after its publication.
