AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON C1�ANGING
TFil3 ZONING CLASSIFICATION OF CERTAIN PROPERTIFsS WITHIN THE
CITY OF RENTON FROM P-1 (PUBLIC IISE) TO R-10 (RESIDENTIAL-
10 DII/AC) (HILLCREST ELEMENTARY SC�OOL; FILE NO. LIIA-95-
097, R, �SCF) .
WHEREAS, under Chapter 7, Title IV (Building Regulations) , of
Ordinance No. 4260 known as the "Code of General Ordinances of the
City of Renton, " as amended, and maps and reports adopted in
conjunction therewith, the property hereinbelow described has
heretofore been zoned as P-1 (Public Use) ; and
WHEREAS, the City of Renton initiated a proceeding for change
of zone classification of said property. This matter was duly
referred to the Hearing Examiner for investigation, study, and
public hearing, and a public hearing having been held thereon on or
about October 3, 1995, and said matter having been duly considered
by the Hearing Examiner, and said zoning request having been
recommended, and said zoning request being in conformity with the
City' s Comprehensive Plan, as amended, and the City Council having
duly considered all matters relevant thereto, and all parties having
been heard appearing in support thereof or in opposition thereto;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON,
WASHINGTON, DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS :
SECTION I. The following described property in the City of
Renton is hereby rezoned to R-10 (Residential-10 DU/AC) as '
hereinbelow specified, subject to the findings, conclusions, and
� decision of the Hearing Examiner dated October 12, 1995; the

Development Services Director is hereby authorized and directed to I
change the maps of the Zoning Ordinance, as amended, to evidence ,
said rezoning, to-wit : II
See Exhibit "A�� attached hereto and made a part hereof as �
if fully set forth herein.
(Said property, approximately 7 .21 acres, is located at
1800 Index Avenue N.E. )
SECTION II. This ordinance shall be effective upon its
passage, approval, and five (5) days after publication.

LEGAL DESCRIPTION:
Those portions of Tracts A and C,all in Block 5,Corrected Plat of Renton Highlands No. 2,
ac�ording to the Plat thereof,Recorded in Volume 57 of Plats, Pages 92-98 inclusive, Records of
King County, Washington, lying westerly of the following described line:
Beginning the aforementioned line at the Northwest corner of Tract B, Block 5 of said Plat;
Thence N 04° 41' 00" E along said line, to a point of intersection with the Northerly line of Tract
C, Block 5 of said Plat and the terminus of said line, said terminus also being a point on the
southerly right-of-way line of Harrington Avenue NE.
All situate in the Southwest quarter of Section 4, Township 23 North, Range 5 East, W.M., King
County, Washington.
