HomeMy WebLinkAboutORD 4571 1 Amends ORD 4404 Amended by ORD 4636 4704 CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON ORDINANCE N0. 4571 AN ORDINANCE OF THl3 CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON, AM]3NDING SECTIONS 4-31-4 .1, 4-31-4 .2, 4-31-4 .3, 4-31-5, 4-31-6, AND 4-31-7, OF CFIAPTER 31, ZONING, OF TITLI3 IV (BUILDING REG�LAT.IONS) , OF ORDINANCE NO. 4260 ENTITLED "CODE OF GENERAL ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON" BY ADDING A NEW SUBSECTION FOR TEMPORARY USES AND PERMITTING A MANUFACTURED HOME AS A TEMPORARY DWELLING ON T�E S1�ME LOT AS A PF'sRMAPTENT DWELLING FOR CAREGIVERS IN CASES OF MEDICAL HARDSHIP. THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON, DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS : S$CTION I. Section 4-31-4 . 1 of Chapter 31, Zoning Code, of Title IV (Building Regulations) , of Ordinance No. 4260 entitled "Code of General Ordinances of the City of Renton, Washington" is ' hereby amended by adding the following subsection which reads as follows : 4-31-4 .1.B.6: Temporary Uses : a. Temporary manufactured home for medical hardship. (1) A manufactured home may be permitted as a temporary dwelling on the same lot as a permanent dwelling, provided: (i) The applicant demonstrates the temporary dwelling is necessary to provide daily care to an individual certified by a physician as needing such care; and (ii) The primary provider of daily care shall reside on-site; and � ORDINANCE N0. 4571 (iii) The manufactured home together with the permanent residence shall meet the setback, height, building footprint, and lot coverage provisions for the applicable zone. (2) The temporary manufactured home permit for medical hardship shall be effective for twelve months . Extension of the temporary manufactured home permit may be approved in twelve month increments subject to demonstration of continuing medical hardship. " (3) The manufactured home shall be removed within ninety days of: (i) the expiration of the temporary manufactured home permit; or (ii) The cessation of provision of daily care. (4) The manufactured home shall comply with HUD standards. SECTION II. Section 4-31-4 .2 of Chapter 31, Zoning Code, of Title IV (Building Regulations) , of Ordinance No. 4260 entitled "Code of General Ordinances of the City of Renton, Washington" is hereby amended by adding the following subsection which reads as follows : 4-31-4.2 .B.6 : Temporary Uses : a. CHAPTER 31, ZONING, OF TITLE IV (BIIILDING REGIILATIONS) , OF ORDINANCL NO. 4260 ENTITLED "CODE OF GENER.AL ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WAS�INGTON" BY ADDING A NEW SUBSECTION 1�OR TEMPORARY IISES AND PLRMITTING A MANUFACTURF:D HOb� AS A TEMPOR.ARY DWELLING ON TH� SAME LOT AS A PERMANENT DWELLING FOR CAREGIVERS IN CASLS OF MEDICAL IiARDSHIP. The following is a summary of this ordinance. SECTION I. This ordinance adds a new subsection to the following residential zones : Resource Conservation (RC) , I Residential-1 DU/Acre, Residential-5 DU/Acre, Residential-8 DU/Acre, . Residential-10 DU/Acre and Residential-24 DU/Acre, to permit, as a temporary use, manufactured homes on a lot with an existing single-family home for caregivers in cases of inedical hardship.
